Revolutionize Your Approach

Apr 02, 2024

Today let's take a deep dive into a concept I briefly spoke about on a Fullerton Unfiltered episode back in February – the Johari Window model.

Now, if you haven't heard of this, no sweat. The Johari Window is like your secret weapon for understanding yourself and how you interact with others. It's split into four parts, each shedding light on different aspects of who you are and how you operate:

Open Area: This is your sweet spot – stuff you know about yourself, and others do too. Think of it as your reputation in the business. You want this zone to be top-notch, showcasing your skills and what makes you stand out from the crowd.

Blind Spot: Here's where things get interesting. This is what others see in you that you might not notice yourself. Feedback is your friend here. Listen up, because there might be areas where you can level up that you didn't even realize.

Hidden Area: We all have our secrets, right? This quadrant is where you stash stuff you know about yourself but keep under wraps. It's okay to have your secrets, but opening up and being real with your team and clients can take your relationships to the next level.

Unknown Area: This one's like uncharted territory – things about yourself that neither you nor others know. It's all about pushing your boundaries, trying new things, and discovering what you're truly capable of.

So, how does this all tie into your lawn care business? Simple. By getting cozy with each quadrant, you're setting yourself up for success:

Stay open: Be transparent with your clients and crew. It builds trust and keeps everyone on the same page.

Embrace feedback: Don't be afraid to hear what others think. It's how you grow, both personally and professionally.

Share the real you: Vulnerability is where the magic happens. Let your clients and team see the real you – flaws and all.

Keep pushing: Never stop exploring. The more you learn about yourself, the better you'll become at running your business and crushing your goals.

So there you have it, folks. The Johari Window model is your ticket to unlocking your full potential – in business and in life. Get out there, embrace who you are, and watch the magic happen.
