My #1 Tip For Social Media Marketing That ANYONE Can Do!

Jun 22, 2023

Are you ready for it? My #1 tip to win on social media is...

Consistency!

Now, I understand that it may be easier said than done, but trust me, it's crucial. The reality is, you have to proactively seek out customers; they won't simply come knocking on your door. While traditional marketing strategies like postcards, yard signs, and flyers are effective, it's essential not to overlook the power of online marketing. Social media platforms offer incredible opportunities, and the best part is, most of it is free! Sure, you might invest a bit in editing tools or presets for your photos, but it's not an exorbitant expense.

I know there can be fear associated with putting yourself out there on social media, and that's completely understandable. As an introvert myself, I initially felt terrified of sharing on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. However, over time, my mindset shifted, and I gained confidence. I learned to stop caring about what others thought of me. Of course, I always strive to present myself professionally and with integrity, but it's impossible to please everyone. There will always be people who try to bring others down just because they can. Once you stop caring about those individuals, the fear gradually dissipates.

Social media can often feel like a gym membership. At the start of a new year, many of us have the desire to get fit and shed a few pounds. However, a few weeks in, our work schedules become hectic, and we find ourselves running around for our kids' activities. Going to the gym no longer seems feasible. The same principle applies to social media. How many of us created an account and then did nothing with it? If you want your social media marketing to be effective, you must be consistent. Whether that means posting once a day, once a week, or once a month, the frequency doesn't matter as much as sticking with it. Choose a schedule that realistically works for you and commit to it. Don't let this valuable marketing opportunity slip away. It doesn't have to consume all your time; just be consistent and do it!

Think about the people you follow on social media. Who comes to mind? Why do you remember them? Chances are, it's someone who posts regularly. By being consistent, you remain at the forefront of people's minds, and that's why consistency is key!

However, it's important to strike a balance and avoid overposting. Posting 20 reels a day, for example, in hopes of gaining more exposure may not yield the desired results. While I'm no algorithm guru, I'm pretty sure the algorithm won't favor such frequent posting. So, find the right balance that works for you, your schedule, and won't overwhelm your followers.

If there's one thing to take away from this, it's that you need to be consistent and take action regardless! Don't let fear or embarrassment hold you back. Use social media as a platform to showcase your offerings to potential clients. Put your best foot forward and demonstrate why they should choose you!

Now, let's embrace consistency and make social media work for our lawn care businesses!
